We have learned that leopards are roaming close to
Shanthidhama, where we have planted trees Since 2013 June. We did not find any signs
or pug marks at Shanthidhama vicinity.
Forest department is trying to capture live using bait but
proved wrong so far since November. Leopard has 2 cubs and attacking mainly on dogs
and goats in night times. Fading green patch of Heseraghtta Lake and not
finding mammals for food, the leopard has to come out to feed the cubs. Don’t have
the information how leopard ended here.
Heseraghatta was home to jackals many birds, butterflies
since long time.
I am copying link from Deccan herald dated Dec 2nd.
Also, I am attaching map of location on leopard spotted. I
am sharing this information to LIFE volunteers who may visit to understand the risk
and plan accordingly. Caution is advised.
Circled red indicates spotted location of leopards.
